Mark John Douglas Messier (born January 18, 1961) is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey centre of the National Hockey League and current special assistant to the president and general manager of the New York Rangers. Due to his size and strength, he was nicknamed "The Moose".[3][4] In 2007, he was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame, in his first year of eligibility.
Mark Messier is regarded as one of the greatest hockey players to grace the ice. We all know that hockey brings its physical disputes and Messier is one to never shy away from a good fight. His shaved head makes him even more lethal in a fight since his opponent will never be able to pull his hair- and yes, hockey players pull hair when they fight.
In the above Sports Illustrated photo you can see him being held back by referees. If you want to look tough and you got a balding head- shave it and go for the Messier look. After that, no one will want to mess with you.
