John Amos (actor/ former AFL player) Status: Bald


John Amos (born December 27, 1939) is an American actor and former football player. His television work includes roles on The Mary Tyler Moore Show, Good Times, the miniseries Roots, and a recurring role in The West Wing. He has also appeared on Broadway and in numerous motion pictures in a career that spans four decades. He has received nominations for a Primetime Emmy Award and NAACP Image Award.

Amos has the distinction of winning more TV Land Awards than anyone, taking home trophies for his roles on The Mary Tyler Moore Show, Good Times and the TV miniseries Roots.



In addition to his successful career on television, John Amos was also a football player in the former league known as the AFL. His large presence on the made him intimdating on both the field and the television. Like his fellow bald celebrity tv actor Sherman Hemsley, Amos's receding hairline added to his character on the show Good Times. As the show progress, his hair loss became more prominent. He now from time to time shaves his head, which definitely shaves years of as he looks younger in the picture above. Just another reason for anyone who is balding to shave their head.
